Students should know that performing volunteer service in the community is valued not only at Seal Prep but at colleges and universities as well. Volunteer/community service is considered an asset to the student’s candidacy for college entrance. Community service activities are available through Seal Prep Academy, or through various outside agencies. Students pursuing the Scholars Awards through the Seal Prep Program should complete 75 hours of community service.
Online courses are available to all students. They can sublimate the in-class learning or be available for those choosing to home-school. Taking a course online requires self-discipline and commitment. It is a privilege to take courses using the online format. It is the responsibility of the student to maintain an appropriate pace and make weekly contact with their online instructors. In the event that a student falls behind, they will be scheduled for a monitored class period and attendance will be taken.
Our faculty approaches each subject uniquely to develop and promote understanding, critical thought, and retention for our students. We strive to use our curriculum as a vessel to embed real-world skills such as creativity, communication, technological literacy, and emotional resilience, through a variety of methods including project-based learning, collaboration, and experiential learning.
